FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

Handheld or Benchtop Usage & Data Logging

The V4 Series of handheld RF analyzer offers the unique ability to perform complex test and measurement in the field without lugging around bulky, expensive, outdated equipment that could get damaged, stolen, or worse – cause injury to the engineers that must carry it around! That does not mean that the Spectran V4 is only good for field applications, however. Used in conjunction with the included PC software, these durable handheld units easily transform into a full-featured benchtop spectrum analyzer, complete with remote PC-based control, and extended data logging and playback. The intuitive user-friendly spectrum analyzer software is capable of controlling multiple Spectran units, making it extremely easy to switch between several analyzers to perform extensive testing in multiple locations and multiple pre-determined frequency ranges. Each handheld unit also includes internal memory for portable data logging and enhanced playback and analysis in the PC software interface after taking field measurements.

SPECTRUM ANALYZER TECHNOLOGY

The handheld unit is controlled via button-press interface, programmable custom hotkeys, multi-function jog dial, or remote controlled via USB / PC software. The unit includes an internal 1300 mAh battery offering 2 hours of autonomous run time. Expanded batteries (3000 mAh LiPo) are available. Each handheld unit features 14Bit Dual ADC, DDC Hardware filter, 150 MIPS digital signal processor (CPU), and 64K internal memory (100 logs). Application examples include analysis and measurement of: WLan, UMTS, WiFi, active Radar, GSM, mobile phones, Bluetooth, microwave ovens, DECT phones, TETRA, radio stations, television stations, and various EMC limits/exposure testing.

OPTIONS, UPGRADES, and ACCESSORIES

1MB Internal Memory Expansion (Option 001): Provides an upgraded 1MB internal memory for extended field-based data logging, over 10,000 logs (versus standard factory memory, 100 logs).

Internal 15dB Low-Noise Preamplifier (Option 020): Internal low noise pre-amp enabling maximum performance when measuring weak signals, controlled via true RF switch. INCLUDED IN USA MODELS AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE – PART NUMBERS ENDING IN “5”.

0.5PPM TXCO Timebase (Option 002): Available only for the HF60100 / 60105; this highly precise TXCO timebase offers significantly reduced phase noise and allows for narrower use of filters to enhance sensitivity. Extremely important for applications including time-domain measurements and code-selective measurements of UTMS. Standard accuracy without Timebase option is 50PPM.

6GHz / 8GHz / 10GHz Peak Power Meter (Option 20x): The peak power meter option (6, 8, and 10 GHz depending on HF6000 model number) augments the Spectran handheld unit with a power meter with up to 10GHz bandwidth, allowing exact measurement of signal peaks with a high crest factor, like those occurring in WLAN or short signals including radar bursts. This power meter offers real-time broadband measurement with sensitivity of up to approximately -50dBm (max level +110dBm).

Audio Signal Tracker (Option 015): Provides acoustic representation of signal intensity, similar to a Geiger counter, offering a fast and convenient localization of the signal source. Ideal for directional finding, hunting hidden transmitters, or aligning antennas.

9kHz Frequency Extension (Option 900): Available only for the HF60100 / 60105; this expansion extends the low-end frequency of the analyzer to 9kHz, ideal for the measurement of conducted emissions, according to interference standards such as EN55015 and EN61800-3.

Docking Station: High-quality docking station/analyzer stand for benchtop use, with integrated connectors (USB, SMA).

GPS Logger: This optional GPS logger offers 6 sensors (GPS, Gyro, 3D Tilt, Digital Compass, Height, and Accelerometer) and integrates with the analyzer directly to pinpoint locations. This is ideal for automatic for recording field measurements and generating heat maps (with Google Maps, for example), as well as visualization of network coverage for GSM, WLAN, etc.

Broadband Antennas: Spectran V5 Analyzers are fitted with high-quality SMA connectors that allow them to interface directly with our full line of precision broadband antennas, including directional LP antennas, low-frequency magnetic field tracking antennas, and omnidirectional radial isotropic antennas. These antenna models are available in optimized frequency ranges, and come in many varieties to suit countless RF analysis applications.

External Low Noise Pre-Amplifiers: Spectran V4 Analyzers also interface directly with our full line of external battery-powered LNA, to heighten sensitivity up to -170dB and sniff out extremely weak signals.

Near Field Probe Set: Available in passive and active models, AaroniaUSA near field probe sets offer 5 probes with or without 40dB preamplifier, to sniff out weak signals in near-field EMC testing applications.

Cables and Connectors: AaroniaUSA offers a wide variety of compatible cables and connectors, including 1 meter, 5 meter, and 10 meter SMA cables, DC blockers to prevent the 50 Ohm SMA input from being destroyed by DC voltages, 20 dB attenuator to expand the measurement range to 33dBm, SMA-SMA connectors, SMA-N connectors, and more.

Protective Rubber Boot: Durable rubber boot protects handheld analyzers from drops, falls, and crushing, making your already durable handheld analyzer even more protected from heavy duty applications.
